summary: Ability to run an arbitrary command before making network connection
class: wish: This is a request for an enhancement.
fixed-in: 503d6139d5e1a7c727343e7c06c39778f18dfb25 (0.84)

PuTTY now has the ability to run an arbitrary command just before it makes a network connection. This can be used, for instance, to turn a server on via wake-on-LAN before making an SSH connection to it, or to implement port knocking.

This can either be configured in saved settings ('Command to run before connection'), or specified on the command line (-preconnectcommand).
